Deepak Kumar Pareek, born in Rajasthan, India, is an acclaimed vocalist, musician, composer and teacher. His repertoire features light classical music, including devotional songs (bhajans) and ancient love poetry (ghazals). He also enjoys playing lively Indian pop music and old film songs.

Born into a musical family, Deepak first studied with his father Shri P.N. Vyas, and continued his studies with masters Ustad R.F. Dagar, Ustad Moinuddin Khan and Mohinderjit Singh.

Deepak is an accomplished performer of many musical instruments, including harmonium, guitar and keyboard. He has performed in India and across the U.S. in colleges, temples and ashrams, delighting both Eastern and Western audiences. His music creates a deep spiritual energy that touches each listener.

Deepak teaches vocal and instrumental music in the New York and Philadelphia areas. He is on the faculty of the East-West School of Music at Ananda Ashram, Yoga Society of New York, located in Monroe, New York.

In addition to his ongoing classes at the ashram, Deepak leads group classes in a convenient midtown Manhattan location. He teaches the fundamentals of Indian vocal music using the traditional call and response method.

Deepak’s recent performances include a VIP preview party for Christie’s Asia Week sales, a live performance for Deepak Chopra’s book party and launch of his radio show at Sirius Satellite radio and a special Diwali (Indian New Year) performance at the Chopra Center & Spa in New York City. He performed a special "Kite Flying Concert" celebrating Makar Sankranti at the ARCH in New York City on January 13, 2007. 

On November 9, 2007 Deepak will be performing live in a special Diwali concert at Golden Bridge Yoga NYC.
