DEEPAK KUMAR PAREEK
ROMANTIC LOVE SONGS IN AN INTIMATE SETTING
Ghazals are based on the ancient poetic form that is a series of couplets or "shers" with each one being a complete poem unto itself. Ghazals have traditional themes based on romantic love and mysticism with their origins in 10th Century Persia. Sung in Urdu, the songs are often metaphors for spiritual love.
Born into a musical family in Rajasthan, India, Deepak's musical education began at the age of five with his father Shri P.N. Vyas as his first teacher and he continued his studies with Ustad Moinuddin Khan and Mohinderjit Singh. Deepak has performed on radio and television in India and the U.S., and has composed award-winning music.
Deepak's singing has enthralled both Indian and Western audiences through its universal language of love, and he is considered to have one of the best voices of his generation. His music crosses all cultural boundaries and touches the deepest part of the soul.
Deepak recently toured the U.S. with MUSAFIR, the world-renowned Rajasthani gypsy troupe. In the New York City area, Deepak has performed at Christie's, the ARCH SPACE, Sirius Radio with Deepak Chopra, PIANOS, Merkin Concert Hall, Golden Bridge Yoga NYC and Jivamukti Yoga School.
